They did not simply carve from common timber; they learned to master the venomous heart of the forest. From the Rengas Tiger wood, they harvested the caustic sap, a weeping fluid whose volatile touch caused the skin to blister and peel. The darkest essence was drawn from the Black Poisonwood, a treacherous, viscous fluid that served as the binding agent for the curse. It is said that by combining these two lethal nectars, the Apothecary created a powerful elixir of pure, untamed toxicity. This dice set is not merely carved from wood; it is a reliquary, blessed by the very curse that imbues each die with an insidious power.

Limited-edition Apothecary’s Curse dice set. Crafted from some truly toxic woods this exquisite dice set is a testament to the dark arts of craftsmanship. Each die is meticulously carved from Rengas Tiger Wood and the entire set is encased in a Black Poison Wood Reliquary. Both woods are known for their toxic sap which can leave blisters on the skin and cause severe allergic reactions. In their kiln dried state though, they are perfectly safe to handle.

The dice themselves are hewn from the striking Rengas Tiger wood, known for its bold, fiery grain that streaks in a stunning red-orange hue. The beauty of this wood is only surpassed by its legendary properties. Also known as Borneo Rosewood, is known for its strong irritation to the skin and respiratory system. The sap of Rengas contains urushiol, the same allergen found in poison ivy, which can cause blisters, sores, and fever in some individuals. The kiln dried wood however is safe to handle. It’s typically only the dust and sap that cause allergic reactions.

Each die is then engraved with a custom font inspired by the ornate labels of vintage medicine bottles, blending old-world elegance with a sense of sinister potency. The numbers are bold and clear, ensuring your rolls are as deadly as the lore of these dice themselves.

Each set housed within a custom, hand crafted reliquary was made from single piece of Black Poisonwood, a tree native to the Carribean known for its dense variegate wood, whose black sap is so toxic, it gave the entire tree it’s name. The round, satin finished box features a built-in rolling tray and a soft black suede liner to protect your dice. The lid is laser-engraved with an iconic design of a coiled serpent wrapped around a poison bottle, a visual representation of the set’s toxic materials and it’s in world apothecary lore. This reliquary isn’t just for storage though, it’s a testament to the forbidden knowledge and potent craftsmanship that went into every element of The Apothecary’s Curse.

*** While both Rengas Tiger and Black Poison Wood are known for the highly irritating sap full of Urushiol oil, they are quite benign once properly kiln dried, though they are an irritant if the dust is inhaled during the crafting process. The finish dice and reliquary are not considered and irritant for the vast majority of people. That said, if you are HIGHLY allergic to Urushiol, we recommend you do not purchase these dice.
