Pau Rosa is portuguese for ‘rosewood’ and while it is not a true rosewood its high density and natural luster make for a stunning set of dice. It hails from South Africa and it shares the nickname “Pau Ferro” with Bolivian Rosewood.
Pau Rosa is one of the few woods that has the potential to be a rainbow of colors. The Pau Rosa spectrum ranges from pink to yellow to a reddish brown and typically has dark veins throughout. It can resemble Tulipwood or Canarywood. It generally darkens over time and our blanks tend to have lighter shades of brown to darker warmer tones.
